Van Meer continues collaboration with SPM following successful pilot project
Dutch system integrator and service provider Van Meer deepens its collaboration with SPM after a successful pilot project involving Airius wireless vibration sensors.
Van Meer provides system integration and services for electrical and mechanical drive systems in the manufacturing, marine, and offshore sectors. The core business includes the engineering, implementation, maintenance, and management of electrical and mechanical systems throughout their life cycle.
In the pilot project, Van Meer acquired six Airius LTE-M wireless vibration sensors and a full version of the Condmaster analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting software, including REST API data import functionality—the primary reason for the decision to partner with SPM. The first installation within the collaboration involved sensor installation on two 900 KW induced draft fans in a waste plant.
Van Meer offers an all-in-one solution, providing a full-service package of monitoring and maintenance services for rotating equipment and frequency drives. The company ensures uninterrupted online connectivity for its customers by implementing condition monitoring on various rotating equipment, enabling preventive maintenance scheduling, minimized downtime, and enhanced operational efficiency. In view of Van Meer’s commitment to 24/7 service, avoiding unplanned downtime is crucial to maintaining customer trust.
Van Meer chose SPM because of the powerful concept where all SPM measuring devices run against a single software and database environment. Furthermore, the ability to use REST API to integrate sensor data from other software, measuring systems, and IoT devices, regardless of supplier, into the Condmaster software provides virtually unlimited flexibility for Van Meer to customize easily scalable condition monitoring solutions and services for its customers.
All the OT (Operational Technology) data integrated via Rest API gives Van Meer customers a very accurate baseline of their assets. Additionally, Condmaster can show individual trends of various machine failure modes. The browser-based Condmaster.NET portal gives customers easy access to insights into current asset condition.
Chiel de Jong (Van Meer Senior Analyst/Teamleader): “At Van Meer, we don’t see ourselves so much as an SPM customer, but more as a partner thanks to our smooth cooperation and teamwork. In addition, SPM's service-oriented attitude and the direct contact with the support department at SPM HQ in Sweden contribute to this positive feeling and successful collaboration.”
Following the successful pilot project, Van Meer plans to invest in additional Airius wireless vibration sensors and Intellinova online systems for installation at customer sites. The foundation is now in place. Van Meer’s short-term goal is to scale up and sell the concept within its existing customer portfolio and reach new potential customers. In the longer term, Van Meer aims to extend the range of sensors providing operational and technical level data (OT data) to integrate more asset data and operation conditions into Condmaster, thus enabling even more accurate determination of baselines and machine condition.
SPM Instrument BV’s vision aligns with Van Meer´s service strategy. SPM is a total solutions provider offering the hardware and software to monitor a complete production facility, as well as the know-how and team to manage and help with projects.
